I’m going to list some likes and dislikes and then specific prompts for each fandom to spark some ideas for you below. You can also find me on ao3 here: rheawrites

if you want to get an idea of what I write/bookmark. But optional details are optional! Feel free to disregard completely and run with your own idea. I will most enjoy something that you had fun creating, so please go as self-indulgent as possible and have fun with it!

I’m generally pretty easy to please, I read a lot of stuff and I like a lot of stuff. I love both short PWPs and long plotty fics, fluff and darker fics, go for any rating or genre you prefer. Preferences for AUs vary from canon to canon (and I will go into more detail for each below), but in general I am more interested in a story that explores the world the characters are already in rather than a completely new setting (eg coffee shop AU for a sci fi canon or vice versa).

• Super fun tropey tropes, eg: fake dating, pining, only one bed/forced proximity, marriage of convenience, woke up married, accidental baby acquisition.

We Are Lady Parts (TV)

We Are Lady Parts is a sitcom (2 seasons, each of 6 x 30 min episodes) about an all female muslim punk band in London. It’s amazing and if you haven’t seen it but like the sound of that, I would highly recommend giving it a watch. Here’s a taster of their music and the show in general: Villain Era, We Are Lady Parts (youtube). In the UK you can watch it on Channel 4+ and elsewhere I believe it’s on Peacock (free 7 day trial).

I haven't requested any specific characters because I love the whole gang, but please feel free to focus on a certain character or characters of your choice.

Amina and Saira were my faves in season one and I still ship them together so feel free to go down that route. However I also liked that season 2 felt a bit more even in terms of screen time for more of the different characters. I also really liked the way that Amina and Ahsan’s relationship developed! Ahsan getting flustered over Amina and working so hard to impress her!! That's the way it should be.

Optional prompts:

• Road trip fic!! The band travelling to a remote gig or on a tour around the UK, what kind of chaos ensues?
• Saira being vulnerable around Amina or opening up a little? Maybe some light hurt/comfort like Saira is sick and Amina insists on looking after her. Or Saira could even attempt to take care of Amina.
• Amina’s ongoing punk education - what do different members of the band need to teach the newbie?
• I feel like season two leant more into the surreal and comedic side of things which could tie into all the fun, classic fanfic tropes so well!! Accidental baby acquisition, only one bed, fake dating, 5+1 etc.
• Ayesha and Laura - I loved their storyline in season 2 and would also love to see their relationship explored some more! What do the rest of the band think about Laura? How does she meet the other band members? Laura is from a wealthy, privileged background so how does that impact their connection and the way they see the world?
• Laura and Ayesha on a double date with Ahsan and Amina
• The show plays with fandom in a really fun way, maybe a meta fic of fan reactions to stuff the band does or a fan forum where in universe fans discuss ships/theories
• Speaking of - Saira and Ayesha react so hilariously when they find art shipping themselves together - what's the story there? Have they been romantic before?

Witch King (Martha Wells)

Canon specific DNW: For this canon I do not want AUs that drastically change the canon setting (eg space au, coffee shop au).

This is a fantasy novel about weaponised trauma and found family and defeating imperialism. I loooooved this book so much, when I finished it I just wanted to spend more time in this world. I haven’t requested any specific character because I would be super happy with a story focusing on any character from canon. In particular my favourites are Kaiisteron (of course), Zeide Daiyahah and Bashasa.

Optional prompts:

• Kai and Zeide’s relationship - how did it grow from what we see in the past storyline to the present? When did Kai give Zeide his heart pearl? How did they come to trust each other and rely on each other so much?
• Kai and Bashasa’s relationship - I love what we get between them in canon, and it leaves me with so many questions. We know they loved each other, but Bashasa never publicly acknowledged Kai as anything other than a demon servant, because in the present day narrative Rahsad asks Kai about the rumour that he and Bashasa were lovers. But then at the same time from Bashasa's last words to Kai we know that he viewed their relationship as a partnership and that he valued Kai extremely highly...... there’s so much to have fun with!
• Kai and his weaponised masochism - i love the hurt/comfort potential. How do his friends react to seeing him constantly injured and in danger? Maybe he misjudges and gets seriously hurt?
• Kai and body stuff/dysphoria. In canon Kai switches bodies several times, I’d love to see a story exploring the differences between bodies or how Kai reacts to inhabiting different ones.
• It's unclear how Bashat is related to Bashasa but for optimum knife-twistiness I like to think he is Bashasa's grandson and that at some point Bashasa took a politically appropriate bride and they had children. How does Kai (and/or the gang) react to this?
• Zeide and Tahren - we see the beginnings of their relationship in the past storyline in canon, and how devoted they are to each other in the canon present, but what came in between? What happened after Zeide rescued Tahren at the end of the book?
• Kai and Rashad - I love the potential framing of Rashad being a historian and asking Kai questions about the past. Rashad being enthusiastic to meet Kai and talk to him as someone who was actually there for many of the events he studied. In canon it’s left ambiguous what happened between them so lots to explore in their relationship. Did they fuck? How much did Kai really trust him?
• Dahin - we know he was captured and tortured during the war which left massive trauma, but what was he doing when he got captured? What happened? How does he feel about Tahren, his immortal blessed sister as only a lesser blessed himself?
• There’s plenty of opportunity for case fic with the gang on missions during the war. I’d love anything that explores the worldbuilding of the novel or the different magical systems at play!
